Video with Guy Vercruyssen from TM COTU discussing the advantages of our innovative formwork technology based on his experience.
In our previous newsletter, we informed you about the construction of the Scheldt Tunnel. This is an internationally renowned project and an important link in the Oosterweel connection, which will complete the ring road around Antwerp. The tunnel connects the left bank with the right bank on the north side of the city and south of the port, greatly improving accessibility. The tunnel will be 1.8 kilometres long, with three lanes in each direction, and cyclists will also be able to use the tunnel thanks to a separate cycle tunnel.
Various formwork components are being used in the construction dock in Zeebrugge to create the eight different drainage elements. The various formwork components designed and supplied by us consist of floor boxes, mobile centre tunnel channel boxes, cover boxes and wall/cover boxes for both the roadways and the cycle tunnel. In addition, we have designed and supplied mobile wall boxes in portals for the partition walls. All this in a double set so that the two construction flows can be carried out in parallel in the construction dock. The first two de-sinking elements are now complete and the third and fourth elements are under construction.
The construction of the Scheldt Tunnel is probably the most spectacular part of the Oosterweel connection and will soon be an unprecedented feat! That is why we would like to take you to the construction dock in this edition of our newsletter to give you a good idea of this project. We therefore invite you to watch the video.
